“Ha rovesciato i potenti dai troni, ha innalzato gli umili; ha ricolmato di beni gli affamati, ha rimandato i ricchi a mani vuote.
Ci chiediamo a volte il perchè le cose nostre e quelle del mondo vanno storte e non riusciamo a capire il perchè. Nonostante le promesse di Dio, almeno su questa terra, non troviamo pace e non riusciamo a vedere realizzato tutto quel bene a cui aspiriamo.
A tale proposito mi è venuto in mente il Magnificat, recitato dalla Madre di Gesù durante la gravidanza, quando va a trovare la cugina Elisabetta anch’essa incinta di Giovanni il Battista, che ritengo sia la più bella lode a Dio e alle opere da Lui compiute, di tutti i tempi.
Mi sono chiesto: “Che cosa impedisce a Dio di compiere le mirabili opere che vengono descritte in questo inno sublime che impedirebbero al mondo di precipitare nel vortice di violenza e ingiustizia nel quale lo vediamo precipitare?”
La risposta è semplice: “La nostra nostra poca fede”.
Infatti sappiamo bene dalle sacre scitture che Dio, avendoci creati liberi, può intromettersi nelle nostre faccende umane solo e nella misura in cui noi glielo consentiamo con nostra la fede e la nostra preghiera, di conseguenza, finchè noi non ci rendiamo conto che tutto è nelle sue mani e che la risoluzione dei problemi insolubili dell’umanità è possibile solo affidandosi a Lui, non gli consentiamo di intervenire.
Al contrario molti di noi pensano che la risoluzione dei grandi problemi dell’uomo dipenda dagli idoli che a mano a mano ci siamo costruiti: il denaro, la politica, la scienza, le tecnica l’organizzazione; dimenticandosi che questi sono solo dei mezzi che, fra l’altro, possono essere usati per distruggere invece che per costruire.
Quello che conta veramente nella vita, non sono i mezzi ma i fini a cui gli stessi vengono asserviti.
La Saggezza per distinguere il bene dal male e far si che i grandi mezzi di cui disponiamo vengano indirizzati verso il vero bene dell’uomo, la possiamo trovare solo in Dio, in un rapporto di Fede e di Amore con Lui.

L’anima mia magnifica il Signore
e il mio spirito esulta in Dio, mio salvatore,
perché ha guardato l’umiltà della sua serva.
D’ora in poi tutte le generazioni mi chiameranno beata.
Grandi cose ha fatto in me l’Onnipotente
e Santo è il suo nome:
di generazione in generazione la sua misericordia
si stende su quelli che lo temono.
Ha spiegato la potenza del suo braccio,
ha disperso i superbi nei pensieri del loro cuore;
ha rovesciato i potenti dai troni,
ha innalzato gli umili;
ha ricolmato di beni gli affamati,
ha rimandato i ricchi a mani vuote.
Ha soccorso Israele, suo servo,
ricordandosi della sua misericordia,
come aveva promesso ai nostri padri,
ad Abramo e alla sua discendenza, per sempre.
Gloria al Padre e al Figlio
e allo Spirito Santo.
